At Jobs for the Future (JFF), we believe the federal government should invest in and transform America’s education and workforce systems in ways that support our nation’s economic needs, build talent pipelines, bolster businesses, and provide pathways to good jobs. In a letter to the White House earlier this month, we urged the Trump administration to consider incorporating in the president’s proposed budget for federal fiscal year 2026 several funding and policy measures that would drive progress toward eliminating dead ends at school, work, and in life for millions of Americans.
The letter, which JFF CEO Maria Flynn delivered to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on March 11, makes recommendations related to education and workforce development in five crucial areas:
- Expanding Pathways That Support Economic Opportunity
- Broadening Employer Partnerships in Workforce Training
- Advancing Opportunities for Adult Learners
- Connecting Youth and Adults to College and Careers
- Supporting Research and Innovation
