AI is transforming education and work. This project explores how postsecondary institutions and regional leaders in the Inland Empire and Central Valley can use AI to accelerate economic mobility, especially for adult learners.
Realizing this potential will require postsecondary institutions to adopt greater flexibility, rethinking traditional structures to keep pace with rapid technological change. Without careful planning, challenges like the digital divide, low AI literacy, and skepticism toward new technologies could leave many learners behind. Success will also depend on regional, cross-sector collaboration to ensure AI adoption is inclusive.
This project, developed by Jobs for the Future (JFF), draws on insights from statewide survey data, focus groups with adult learners, and discussions with postsecondary leaders, employers, and community stakeholders. It emphasizes how AI can be implemented responsibly and fairly to enhance advising, career navigation, and connections to quality jobs.
Through regional spotlights and video stories, this project highlights the voices of learners and regional leaders who are using AI to create quality job opportunities and promote economic mobility.
Explore six short stories from postsecondary leaders, employers, and community stakeholders in the Inland Empire and Central Valley. Each profile highlights a unique perspective on how AI is reshaping learning, teaching, and career pathways.
