Alex Swartsel is a vice president at JFF, where she leads the Center for Artificial Intelligence & the Future of Work. In 2023, she led the launch of the Center, whose mission is to help advance policies, practices, and investments that harness the power of AI to improve education and workforce systems.

Before joining JFF, Swartsel served as chief of development, finance, and external affairs for Teach for America’s Washington, DC, region. She has held leadership roles with the Motion Picture Association’s global policy team and on the staffs of U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Sheldon Whitehouse.
