UVA, Univision Partner to Provide Employees Access to Higher Ed, Workforce Development

There are more than 75 million adults in the United States who graduated from high school and never earned a college degree. Compared with college graduates, they are more likely to hold lower-wage jobs, are disproportionately Black and Latinx, and have more limited opportunities for career advancement.

UVA Edge was designed by the University of Virginia (UVA) and and launched with JFFLabs to help adult students build digital and human skills while earning credits that could count toward a degree.

In a UVAToday article, the UVA announced a partnership with Univision, the leading Spanish-language media and content company in the U.S., that will provide access to UVA Edge for eligible Univision employees who can use their annual company-funded tuition reimbursement benefit to attend.

UVA Edge students learn in-demand digital and professional skills needed for long-term career success, while earning 20 college credits from the University of Virginia. Students take a total of six classes over the course of 12 months focused on developing important areas such as data analysis, people management, and digital marketing and entertainment. This fall, the first cohort of Univision employees will enroll in the program.
