Amy Loyd is a prescient pick to bring visionary leadership and a fierce equity focus to the U.S. Department of Education. As Acting Assistant Secretary for the Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education, Amy will leverage her knowledge of systems and policy, along with her passion for and deep dedication to high-quality education that equitably serves all learners, especially those with the least access to opportunity. Amy’s commitment to public service has always driven her work, and she will only further her positive impact on people, places, and systems by leading at the federal level.

At JFF, we will miss Amy as a relentlessly positive colleague and contributor who continually challenged us and enabled us to drive further and faster toward building a more equitable society by improving education and career outcomes. Experienced in both the practice and policy of education, Amy was a key leader of the Pathways to Prosperity Network, which has supported 28 states and hundreds of regions nationwide in building career-connected education systems. She has ensured that state policies and funding were aligned to the programs and practices being scaled on the ground as JFF’s partners built dynamic, in-demand college and career pathways. A sought-after speaker and a valued collaborator to key stakeholders, Amy has been a leader in JFF’s efforts to make an impact in the field and become a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization.

Amy is a treasured colleague who has greatly contributed to JFF’s growth, reputation, and success. Congratulations, Amy! The entire JFF team and board of directors look forward to your new, expansive role in the Biden-Harris administration.
