Insurance brokerages specializing in property and casualty insurance help protect homes and businesses from financial risk. In this track, you’ll learn how coverage works, how to assess exposures, and how to guide clients through claims and renewals.

Employee Benefits

Insurance brokerages specializing in employee benefits help companies design packages of health insurance and other benefits for their employees. In this track, you’ll learn how to compare options, explain complex plans clearly, and help employees make informed decisions about plans that best meet their needs.

Available tracks vary by city and open positions. Both tracks lead to industry-recognized credentials and offer opportunities for professional growth and development.

Who is eligible?

You don’t need prior insurance experience, but you do need to meet these criteria:

  • At least 18 years of age at the start of the program
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Eligible for enrollment in Western Governors University and prepared to complete the admissions application process
  • Able to meet employer requirements for the role you’re hired into, including working on-site, if necessary (the format of the role—in-person, fully remote, or hybrid—will vary by employer)
