JFF offers both summer internships and year-round apprenticeships for qualified learners and workers.

Over the course of the 10-week program, interns gain real-world experience across JFF’s programs and operations while exploring how education and workforce systems can drive economic advancement for all.

The internship is remote, full-time (32-40 hours per week), and runs from late May through early August. Interns receive competitive pay, structured mentorship, and opportunities for professional development and networking across the organization.

What You Might Do as an Apprentice

  • Coordinate team activities like site visits, webinars, events, and meetings
  • Support the development of materials such as meeting notes, memos, and presentations
  • Draft written communications and prepare materials for internal and external audiences
  • Use project management tools (like Asana) to help track work and deadlines
  • Communicate project updates with team members, leaders, and partners
  • Rotate across different JFF teams to gain exposure to different functions and approaches

  • You are 18 or older and interested in supporting teams through operations, administration, or project coordination
  • You’re organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable—able to learn new systems and processes quickly

About the Work

Apprenticeship opportunities at JFF may vary based on our partner organizations and their specific program requirements. While pay rates, timeframes, and responsibilities may differ, here’s an example of what an opportunity may look like:

  • Duration: 2-year commitment
  • Hours: Up to 23 hours/week, totaling 2,000 hours over two years
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday
  • Location: Primarily remote, with periodic in-person meetings and events with your participating team/department at JFF
  • Technology: Reliable internet required; JFF may provide a laptop if needed
  • Pay Rate: Varies depending on program and partner organization requirements
  • Additional Details: Apprenticeships include hours of related classroom instruction and lead to the attainment of an industry-recognized credential. JFF also provides extensive professional development opportunities to help apprentices build additional skills in communication, project coordination, and leadership. Apprentices are also paired with a mentor who provide guidance, feedback, and career support throughout the two-year program.

This structure reflects our commitment to meaningful, mission-aligned work-based learning experiences. Future apprenticeship opportunities may look different, but all will be designed to support learning, growth, and impact.
