Webinar | How Modern Apprenticeship Programs Are Serving Veterans

In honor of Veterans Day and to kick-off National Apprenticeship Week, JFF’s Center for Apprenticeship & Work-Based Learning hosted this 75-minute webinar on Thursday, November 8, 2018 to highlight exemplary apprenticeship programs and policies that facilitate employers tapping into the Veteran talent pool while providing Veterans pathways to good jobs and good wages.

With the ongoing expansion of apprenticeship across the nation, numerous employers have focused on strengthening their workforce by providing Veterans with specific apprenticeship opportunities. This webinar will examine high-quality apprenticeship programs as an effective tool for Veterans to transition into civilian life following their separation from the military—oftentimes building upon the skills they gained while in service. The webinar will also provide important information on the range of GI Bill benefits Veterans are eligible to receive for participating in approved apprenticeship and work-based learning programs.

The webinar featured experts who have operated successful programs, functioned as training providers, employed Veteran apprentices, and helped guide the state approval process.
