Where are opportunities for workers to put their voice into their work?

JFF’s Tameshia Bridges Mansfield in “Closing the Factory Floor Gender Gap”

JFF Vice President of Workforce Innovation Tameshia Bridges Mansfield was recently quoted in an article on the website of the Alliance for American Manufacturing.

The article focused on a panel discussion about the need to diversify the U.S. manufacturing workforce hosted by Indiana University’s O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

A member of the panel, Bridges Mansfield argued that manufacturers shouldn’t just focus on recruiting workers from a more diverse talent pool; they should also support those workers once they’re on the job. And supporting workers means seeking their input.

“Where are opportunities for workers to put their voice into their work?” she asked. “I bet if you ask your workers ‘What is happening?’ they’ll come up with good solutions.”
