The O4O site leverages data, analytics, and visualizations to provide the workforce community the ability to view, and discover workforce outcomes.

The Data resources page adds context to the data outcomes displayed on the site by providing metadata, and context to help better understand them. This includes information about the sources of the data, computations used, and the story narrative of the visualizations.

Participant employment status at entry by WIOA program

Data Source(s): Participant Individual Record Layout (PIRL), Workforce Board Story

Computation Method: Grouped all participants who completed a program by employment status (defined as Employed or Unemployed or Out of the Workforce) and WIOA program.

Narrative: The sankey chart displays the flow of WIOA funding between the two groups (incumbent and non-incumbent workers). The chart clearly provides the viewers an idea of which funding stream supports each group and the volume of support by comparison.


Top types of credentials earned by employment status at entry

Employed at entry

Computation Method: Sum of Certification type by Employed workers who completed training in the selected exit period.

Narrative: The bar chart displays the number of participants who earned a credential that quarter by credential type.

Impact of supportive services on job placement

Data Source(s): Participant Individual Record Layout (PIRL), Workforce Board

Computation Method: Total number of training participants split into two groups: received supportive services and those who didn’t. The number of participants for each of those sub groups who found a job post training / total number of sub group training participants who completed training.

Narrative: For each quarter the bars show the total number of participants who found a job after completing a training broken out by whether or not they received supporting services. On the secondary axis we compare the job placement rate for those who received services and those who didn’t.
