Mark is a consultant providing strategic advisory services to organizations with a social impact mission. His engagements have included launch of one of the world’s largest EdTech competitions, awarding $1.1M to AI/ ML-focused entrepreneurs, technical direction to the U.S. Virgin Islands to improve response and resiliency in the face of future hurricanes, and strategic planning for a public-private venture fund to drive technological and pedagogical innovation for non-traditional learners.
Prior to this, Mark was Vice President of Impact at 2U, where he developed a framework for defining and communicating the company’s educational outcomes. He was also a Principal in EAB’s Corporate Strategy and New Product Development group, where he oversaw the research, development, and launch of new, student-facing technologies for universities. He has worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, state education official in Connecticut, and technology strategist. In these roles, he served public and private sector clients across a range of issues including data and analytics, state and federal accountability, organizational design, and growth strategy.
Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the College of William and Mary, where he currently serves as Vice Chair of its Leadership Advisory Board, and a master’s in education from the University of Pennsylvania.
