Carey O’Connor, JD, is a senior strategist working in our Pathways to Prosperity team, where her focus is on launching a Pathways program in North Texas. She also works with JFF’s director of private sector strategies to design and launch a corporate advising platform.
Before joining JFF, Carey was senior vice president and chief legal officer at Flowserve Corporation, a Fortune 500 company based in Texas with 24,000 employees in 55 countries. She was a fellow at the Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative and was co-founder of a collaborative workforce leadership council in North Texas coordinating workforce development efforts with employers across the region.
Carey is a member of the International Women’s Forum, the advisory board of the Center for Women in the Law, the Dallas Assembly, the Dallas 500, Leadership Dallas, the Dallas Bar Association, the Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative Coalition, and Opening Doors for Women in Need – Fort Worth.
In her personal life, Carey says she “started playing video games about five years ago as a way to connect with my sons. Fast forward, both boys are out of the house but I still occasionally play on my own.” She was also a congressional page in 1988 for then-Speaker Jim Wright. She also “loves to garden, (just pulling weeds really).”
