Lisa Chapnick brings 25 years of managerial and institutional development experience to JFF. As COO, Ms. Chapnick works alongside JFF President and CEO Marlene Seltzer to guide the development of JFF’s organizational structure as it continues to grow.

Ms. Chapnick’s career has spanned organizations within government, health care, and higher education. The common link among them is her deep desire to improve community services through strategic management and growth.

Before arriving at JFF, Ms. Chapnick served as senior vice president for administration and planning at Simmons College in Boston, recognized as one of “America’s Best Colleges” in 2009 by U.S. News & World Report. At Simmons, Ms. Chapnick managed 300 employees and a $27 million budget, oversaw the college’s physical and technology infrastructure, and helped both increase and distribute financial resources.

Ms. Chapnick has also served as executive director of the Mattapan Community Health Center and the Boston Public Facilities Department, as commissioner of Transportation for the City of Boston, and as undersecretary of Economic Affairs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Her key accomplishments include ending three years of deficit and longstanding audit concerns at the Mattapan Community Health Center, designing several successful housing and neighborhood-revitalization programs, and developing procedures for a statewide, $60 million job-training program.

Ms. Chapnick has served on a dozen boards and committees, including present memberships on the board of Boston-based Conexion: Emerging Latino Leaders, and as treasurer of the national Nonprofit Quarterly Board.

Ms. Chapnick earned her B.A. from Boston University.
