Joy Coates
Senior Project Manager, High School Through College
Joy Coates is a senior project manager for the Student Information System project, part of the Early College High School Initiative. The SIS, a tool for improving practice and outcomes for young people, is a secure, confidential collection of data about students attending early college schools throughout the United States. The SIS provides information and analyses that help guide the development and improvement of early college schools. It also provides evidence on how well early college schools are achieving their mission: to help young people progress toward the education and experience they need to succeed in life and a family-supporting career.
Ms. Coates has more than 10 years’ experience in the fields of development, marketing, and consulting—having worked for the Urban Strategy America Fund, WGBH, Monitor Group, and Houghton Mifflin Publishing. She stays active in her community by holding offices on the boards of two local nonprofits that champion workplace diversity in their chosen industries.
Ms. Coates earned an Associate's degree in recording arts from the Art Institute of New England and her Bachelor's degree in visual/media communications from Emerson College.
