Barbara Endel

Program Director

Barbara Endel co-leads Accelerating Opportunity: A Breaking Through initiative, which seeks to fundamentally change the way Adult Basic Education is delivered in 11 states, and to ensure that those states’ policies encourage dramatically improved student outcomes in terms of completing credentials of value in the labor market.

Most recently, Endel served as a policy consultant to JFF on the Developmental Education Initiative, a six-state subproject of Achieving the Dream focused on mining and utilizing data to improve student success in community colleges. Before that, she helped the Greater Cincinnati Workforce Network create career pathways for over 3,000 participants through a project funded by the National Fund for Workforce Solutions.

Endel has also developed career pathways and managed policy initiatives for KnowledgeWorks Foundation and designed and implemented community college assessments and research solutions for ACT.

Endel has a Master’s and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. She earned her Bachelor’s from The College of Wooster in Ohio.
