Program Director, Pathways to Prosperity Network
Amy Loyd is a senior leader of the Pathways to Prosperity Network, a collaboration of JFF and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. The Network supports employers, educators, and government leaders from six states in developing and implementing sustainable policies, infrastructure, and practices that build pathways for young people integrating work and learning and aligned with current and projected regional labor market demand. Ms. Loyd also contributes to the diverse work of JFF’s state policy team.
Over the past decade, Ms. Loyd has presented and consulted on educational improvement strategy and leadership, family and community engagement, culturally responsive teaching and learning, equity and diversity in education, and proficiency-based instruction. She also has expertise in education policies and practices that advance the success of Native American youth. She is particularly interested in how state and regional leaders collaborate with stakeholders to improve educational systems, and has conducted extensive research into the evolving role of state education agencies.
Prior to joining JFF, Ms. Loyd was director of education for a tribal nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive employment and training, child and family welfare, recovery, and educational services. She was responsible for a K-12 network of schools-within-schools, supervised over 50 educators who served over 1,000 students and their families, and led state and federal education policy development and advocacy. She has also directed the start-up of a residential education and training program for ex-convicts, ex-addicts, and the homeless; served as a development officer and grant writer; and was a high school math teacher and family advocate.
Ms. Loyd is a graduate of St. John’s College, and is completing her Doctorate in Education Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
