Portable, Stackable Credentials: A New Education Model for Industry-specific Career Pathways

The High School Graduation Initiative's Spring Technical Assistance Institute: "Recovery Programming: Growing and Aligning Efforts for Impact"

The U.S. Department of Education, with assistance by JFF, June 4-5, 2012

 

This two-day institute was hosted by the U.S. Department of Education (which funds the HSGI), with assistance from JFF. The institute's objective's were to:

  1. Explore successful recovery models that ensure youth meet college and career ready standards and can take their next steps beyond high school;
  2. Learn how effective recovery programs are developed and financed, and the value of strong partnerships with community collges, outside agencies, and employers;
  3. Learn from districts and communities that have conducted and used data analysis to identify their off-track and out-of-school youth populations, mount reengagement efforts, and enhance education options for these youth; and
  4. Map and assess the status of local engagement and recovery strategies, identify gaps, and create plans to strengthen and expand efforts within the scope of the High School Graduation Initiative work.
