In testimony to the Commission on the Future of Higher Education, JFF’s Richard Kazis presented four main policy recommendations based on the Achieving the Dream experience: strengthen longitudinal student data systems; encourage additional indicators of student progress, particularly for underprepared students; remove obstacles to collecting data on transfer students’ progress; and provide support for state and institutional research capacity.
