Taking College Courses in High School: A Strategy for College Readiness

Early College Design Services

Reinventing High Schools for Postsecondary Success

What Is Early College?

Early College Design Services builds on more than decade of Jobs for the Future’s experience as a strategic partner with school districts. We help district leaders assess challenges and identify cost-effective school designs, practices, and professional development tailored to local needs.

Two fundamental beliefs have driven JFF’s collaborations with more than 250 communities across 43 states:

  • Every student can succeed in college.
  • Equity in education is part of the basic mission of U.S. schools. They must ensure that students who are traditionally less likely to attend college have the opportunity to succeed in a postsecondary environments or careers.

Early College Design Services includes:

Arne Duncan, U.S. Secretary of Education, on JFF’s Early College High School Initiative: “College and career ready relevance is vital to our efforts as we strive to get better as a country. You demonstrate new ideas and the creativity that engages students in their education and gives them both the hope and the opportunity for a bright successful future.”

JFF publishes teacher and administrator support guides for implementing the Common Instructional Framework and other strategies. Click here for more on these publications, and see below for more related publications.
