Ways To Create Good Jobs For A Stronger Economy

One proposal offered by Marlene Seltzer, president and CEO of Jobs for the Future, was for "The National Fund for Work Force." It would have two major goals: "create career advancement for low-wage jobs" and "provide a pipeline for training those workers." Seltzer said that for every $1 that comes from the National Fund, $4 would be produced at the regional level.

Joel Vargas, vice president of the High School Through College, a national Jobs for the Future program, and LaVonne Sheffield, associate vice president for Early College Expansion at JFF, believe the program should be expanded across the nation because today’s pupils need to have the advanced skills, content knowledge and learning strategies to be successful in a rapidly changing job market.
