Jobs for the Future Names Two New Members to Board of Directors

BOSTON, MA (JUNE 23, 2010) — Jobs for the Future, a national nonprofit organization that specializes in education reform and workforce development, has added two members to its board of directors.

The new board members are Phyllis Barajas, president of Barajas & Associates, a consulting firm that specializes in human resource development; and Tod Loofbourrow, cofounder and president of iRobot Healthcare, a business unit of iRobot.

From 1994 to 1999, Phyllis Barajas served as President Clinton’s deputy assistant secretary in the U.S. Department of Education at the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Office of Bilingual Education.

Tod Loofbourrow’s company, iRobot Healthcare, develops health care applications that aim to add “a million years of independent living to our customers and their families.”

“Our new board members’ combined experience in the public and private sectors will no doubt aid JFF as we continue developing and advocating for better ways to educate our nation’s youth and adults who are underprepared for today’s economy,” said JFF president and CEO Marlene B. Seltzer.

Ms. Barajas and Mr. Loofbourrow will join JFF’s 11 current board members: Tom Glynn (chairman); Arthur H. White (JFF cofounder); Frank Doyle; Jennifer Floren; Anthony Iton; Gail Mellow; Bob Nash; Paul Osterman; Guy Patton; Marlene B. Seltzer; and Don Shalvey.
