NASA Work

Building a Diverse, Green Workforce: Integrating Climate Change Science into Community College Green Career Education and Training is another key part of the Greenforce Initiative. Funded in part by NASA’s Innovations in Climate Education program, this project engages college faculty in strengthening STEM career education options for adult learners. Edgecombe Community College in North Carolina, Wayne County Community Colleges District in Michigan, and Wilbur Wright College in Illinois are incorporating curricula and other tools derived from NASA resources into coursework serving low-income and underrepresented students.

Also partnering in Building a Diverse, Green Workforce is the National Council for Science and the Environment, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the scientific basis for environmental decision making. The council helps adapt its tools for community colleges, assists colleges in using its online platform as part of their instructional delivery, and assists in disseminating products and tools.
