About Our Areas of Work
We organize our work into three areas to help low-income youth & adults:

Advancing Careers And Economic Growth

Advancing Careers and Economic Growth

GOAL: All lower-skilled workers obtain the education and training required to move into family-supporting careers with clear paths for advancement. JFF forms partnerships with employers and education and training providers to help low-skilled adults gain basic academic and career readiness skills, along with occupational skills and credentials, so they can start to advance in a chosen career. Our programs serve the unemployed, as well as working adults who need higher incomes to support themselves and their families. Our models feature comprehensive academic, economic, and social support services to help adults whose life challenges are barriers to success. Our strategies target sectors of the economy that offer current and future opportunities for low-skilled adults to advance to family-supporting careers (i.e., health care, manufacturing, the “green” economy). Our work is based on the philosophy that businesses reap numerous benefits from investing in the advancement of entry-level employees, especially through work-based learning programs.
