Marlene Seltzer is president and CEO of Jobs for the Future. 

She oversees JFF’s development and delivery of research and policy services, strategic implementation assistance, and products and services for customers that include national, state, and local organizations engaged in creating and improving their workforce and education development systems. She has more than 20 years of practical experience in workforce development policy and program delivery at the national, state, and local levels. 

Before joining JFF, Ms. Seltzer held a number of prominent positions in the field of workforce development, including commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Employment and Training. In this capacity, she administered the Commonwealth’s $1 billion federal- and state-funded employment and training programs, including ET Choices—a $40 million comprehensive state welfare-to-work effort. Ms. Seltzer holds a B.A. in urban economics and American history from American University, a Master’s in economics from Northeastern University, and a certificate from the Harvard University Employment and Training Institute.
