Lili Allen
Program Director
Lili Allen, a program director at Jobs for the Future, manages several projects related to building quality pathways to college-ready graduation for underrepresented youth. She leads JFF’s work with a network of communities—Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and Portland, Oregon—that are national frontrunners in building systems of options for off-track youth. She also leads JFF’s work as a core partner in the Boston Public Schools’ district-wide high school renewal effort, and she is helping Boston high schools develop postsecondary partnerships with the scale and depth to significantly improve student achievement. For the U.S. Department of Labor’s Multiple Education Pathways Blueprint Initiative, she provides technical assistance to a Pittsburgh collaborative team that is seeking to improve options for off-track and out-of-school youth.
Ms. Allen has authored or co-authored several publications related to youth transitions and education, including Leveraging Postsecondary Partnerships to Build a College-Going Culture: Tools for High School/Postsecondary Partnerships; Building a Culture of Evidence in Community Colleges; Big Buildings, Small Schools: Using a Small Schools Strategy for High School Reform; From Large to Small: Strategies for Personalizing the High School; and From the Prison Track to the College Track: Pathways to Postsecondary Opportunities for Out-of-School Youth. Before coming JFF, Ms. Allen spent 15 years building collaborative programs between schools and community partners on behalf of urban youth. She holds a Master’s in Education from Harvard University.
