Michelle Paranto is a senior project manager for instructional coaching services, part of JFF’s work to build the capacity of schools and districts to ensure that all high school students can graduate prepared to succeed in college and beyond. She assists in creating and managing the professional development program for instructional coaches and provides support and training for coaching cohorts.
Dr. Paranto has taught for 13 years in K-12 and higher education settings and managed and developed curricula for educational programs for adolescent and adult learners. She taught middle school language arts and designed a program for at-risk rural high school students. She also taught writing for first year, junior year, and ELL students at a postsecondary level. In addition, she has taught literacy classes for adult education programs in rural and urban settings.
Dr. Paranto earned her doctorate in teacher education and curriculum studies with a concentration in language, literacy, and culture from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She also holds a Master’s in comparative literature. Her research areas include transformative literacy practices, adult learning communities, and social justice issues in education.
