Crystal Cubbage
Senior Project Manager

Crystal Cubbage, a senior project manager at JFF, provides data analysis on the performance of students who attend Early College High Schools across the nation. The primary source of data is Student Information System, developed by JFF to supply quantitative evidence of the effectiveness of school designs in the Early College High School Initiative. With the analysis Ms. Cubbage provides, data from SIS also helps teachers, administrators, and intermediaries in the initiative to make data-driven decisions about instituting the practices and identifying the professional development required to improve classroom instruction.

Ms. Cubbage comes to JFF after a ten-year career as a high school chemistry and physics teacher in the Philadelphia area. While teaching, she developed several international study programs for high school students. These programs focused on personal growth and development and science education and traveled to various countries in Africa, including Cameroon, Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Ethiopia. Prior to teaching, Ms. Cubbage enjoyed a career as an electronics engineer with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Her research at NASA involved optimizing the designs of electronic components made from superconducting materials and used in space electronic systems. In 1992, she joined the Peace Corps and served in Cameroon, West Africa, as a math teacher. This experience is what led to her transitioning into the field of education.

Ms. Cubbage earned a B.S. in physics from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Education from Harvard University.
