Anne Newton

Anne Newton, a program director at Jobs for the Future, managed the 2006 Metlife Community College Excellence Award, co-manages the Kellogg/ECHS Literacy Project, and supports the professional growth of small learning community leaders in the Boston Public Schools.
 
Her career in education has spanned 35 years. She has been a classroom teacher and reading specialist at the elementary and secondary levels, a staff developer, a technical assistance provider to districts and state departments of education with a focus on linking research, policy, and practice, and director of a regional effort focused on the certification and professional development of educators in the Northeast.
 
Ms. Newton holds a Master of Regional Planning degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master’s in Education from Boston University, and a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University.
